It’s Sunday and a perfect day for something light, fun and healthy. Something like…Peppermint Chocolate Bliss Balls. If you follow me on Facebook or Instagram you know that I have become passionate about essential oils and enjoy sharing this goodness with others. dōTERRA essential oils are truly amazing and each time I use them I discover their new properties and learn something new. These oils not only allow you to make your own toxin free and natural beauty and household products, support you emotional and physical well being but are super good for mama Earth – as they come from her, they are pure extracts from aromatic plants sourced in their natural habitats. But did you know that you can also use 28 of the dōTERRA essential oils for cooking?
So, here is my favourite recipe I received from my friend Chantal and want to share with you today. It absolutely delicious and I love how the fresh and cooling Peppermint oils balances the sweetness of dates:
Peppermint chocolate bliss balls – Ingredients
1 cup activated almonds
2 cups organic medjool dates (seeds removed)
¼ cup raw cacao powder
2 tablespoons coconut oil
4 drops dōTERRA peppermint essential oil
desiccated coconut for coating
1. Remove seeds from dates
2. Blitz almonds in food processor
3. Add dates and blitz with almonds
4. Add cacao, coconut oil and dōTERRA peppermint oil and blitz
5. Place mix into a bowl and roll into balls
6. Coat each ball with dessicated coconut
7. Set in fridge and enjoy (eat within 10 days from making date – they never lasted me that long though haha)
You can also add chia seeds or mix other nuts with the almonds if you like. Enjoy!
